Writing
This is probably the section that I hold dearest. It's also the section I will probably be updating the least. This is due to my laughable hope that I might one day be published. Having put stuff up on a website first might just get in the way of that little dream. I'll put up what I can though.

hen the world was young and humans were still animals, dragons played here. They came from the spaces between worlds where they were guardians, but in the spaces between worlds nothing really has substance, so they created the form of the dragon and came to our world to soar high through the clear blue skies, fly low through thin forest covered valleys and drink from the clean crystal lakes. The dragons weren't the only things to come to our world. Shades would often make it through as well. Shades were malevolent creatures. Not actually evil, but crazed. They were drawn to the light of life yet were unable to share in it, so, with an anger born of jealously and longing they would strike out at it. The shades would force their way into our world in whatever form they could take, but every time they would be banished or killed by the dragons who sought to protect the world they loved so much.

This continued for many thousands of years, but as humans grew, the dragons began to see selfishness, greed and hunger for power in us. They knew that we would change this world and that if they stayed then they would be changed as well. They would either be corrupted into becoming a tool used to gain dominion over others, forced to fight and kill us as well as their own kind, or they would eventually be hunted down and killed out of sport or simple malice. Eventually, with heavy hearts, the dragons decided to leave. They still wanted to protect us from the shades so they decided to create a barrier between us and places outside our world. They knew they couldn't completely seal us away. This world needs to breath just as we do, so they created a veil between us and the spaces between worlds.

On the day the veil was put in place the dragons all came together and as their protective shield closed around us they took one last look around our world and then departed. The last creature to see a dragon was told this:
"You no longer need us to secure your world, but someday you may, so you are charged with watching over the veil and those it protects. If you have need of us then you may call upon us, but you must summon us as we will not be able to come here of our own will. For your service we offer you a gift." The creature nodded and with that the dragon melted into the air and was gone.
